About

About BARRYDESAW.COM:

This blog has been created to raise the political consciousness of the visiting reader. The writing here cannot be and will not be unbiased; I confess a decided bias in favor of the dignity of the human person. The writing will be careful, for it is of no use to “mean well” and end in adding nothing at all to human dignity, despite ostensible efforts to make a case against oppression or human-agency sufferings of various kinds.

The focus of this blog is unlike most other political blogs. Here I, Barry De Saw, will address the philosophical complexities of a political problem or proposition, delving continually into logical, philosophical, psychological, sociological and historical perspectives on the political issues treated. My intention is frequently not to deliberately take one side of a divisive polemic but to offer new insights and perspectives and considerations; I don’t want my words to constitute or add to divisiveness, but to elevate the conversation. I’ll urge the reader to examine political issues from new perspectives. But my aim will not be like that of many other political blogs, which may overtly vilify a person or persons, often without any foundational moral or scruple informing the stated opinions from the outset. I will however not shy away from harsh criticism of oppression and oppressors, as well as their abetting agents, minions, agencies, proxies and ideologies.

This blog will contain many essays on what I call the human rights imperative, as well as specific issues that pertain to one or more specific rights.

This blog has a sister site, www.humanrightseducationne.com, which is not a blog at all, but limited and essentially expository. All visitors to this site are invited to acquaint themselves with the educational agenda outlined there (at www.humanrightseducationne.com).

I intend that this online blog elevate political discourse so as to create a more dignified and self–agreeing (non-hypocritical) voting public. I dearly hope that you, the all-important visitor to this site, come away from each visit slightly more informed and discerning than when you arrived.
